Explore Camp is designed for our younger campers to explore all that GVR has to offer! Campers rotate through our fun activities with their cabin mates and counselor! Whether for a first time camper or a seasoned camp aficionado with a few years experience, Explore Camp promises to be a fun-filled week chock full of new experiences and lasting friendships.
Tween Camp

Tween Camp is designed to give our tween campers more variety and choice in the activities that interest them. Campers can secure a spot in their favorite GVR activitys through online sign-ups. Tween campers also have the opportunity to participate in world-class outdoor rock climbing on GVR's beautiful natural features.
Activity 1 and Activity 2 are periods that repeat on a daily basis. Activity 3 (can be) different for each day. Activity 4 is a free period with cabin sign-ups occurring based on daily cabin-check point rankings. Honor cabin gets first pick!
Abba’s Child Camp

Abba’s Child Camp is a simple concept; place a grieving child in a place where fun and adventure abound; surround them with people who understand and relate to what they are going through; then watch as they begin to open up and talk about their feelings. All of this at no charge to the child. Through partnering with Abba’s Child Grief Camps, this special week allows kids who have experienced a major loss in the past year to laugh, cry, play, create, and remember with other grieving campers. Abba’s Child campers spend the morning in activities guided by trained grief specialists. The afternoons are spent enjoying all the fun that camp has to offer. Blind Camp
June 30 - July 5, 2024

Ages 8 through 65
Blind camp is specially for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. It is a place to connect, a place to grow, a place to have fun and participate in activities like archery, horseback riding, rock climbing, arts and crafts and much more. Through Christian Record Services, qualifying individuals can receive a scholarship for the full cost of camp.
Horse camp is for teens who love horses! This camp is new at GVR this year and is designed for teens who are already comfortable directing their horses at a walk. Campers will take their horsemanship to the next level with our certified riding instructors and gentle horses, and still get a sampling of other camp activites 2 periods a day. Thursday night, they will go on an overnight pack trip as well. Of course, horse camp participants will put on a rodeo to show off their new skills, weather permitting.

Teen Camp

Teen Camp is designed with our teenaged campers in mind. Knowing our high-schooler's well, we adjust the camp schedule to sleep in a little a longer and stay up a little later. Our activity staff shift to a model of instruction that facilitates independence, social interaction and always good times. Of course, we continue to maintain the state-required supervision ratios of 1-staff member to 8-campers at all times, striking the perfect balance of safety and fun! Activity sign-ups for teens are online, allowing campers to lock-in activities early on a first come, first serve basis.

In addition to the usual activities, Teen Camp also hosts several other social events including a talent show, the highly anticipated annual block party (2017 was themed "Fruit & Flamingo,” 2018 "Lumberjack," and 2019 “Neon Llamas”) and a memorable Friday-night Agape feast.

Extreme Outpost occurs simultaneously with one of our other camps and is tailored for campers ages 13 to 17. These campers will not only experience the best of GVR, but will go off site for various activities such as (white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking a 14er, etc.). Upon arriving, Outpost campers pack up their luggage and head into the outback of GVR's 540 beautiful and mountainous acres to spend a week living in tents, cooking over fires, and participating in the best of Colorado's summer-time outdoor recreation. With our highly trained staff and an RN on-duty at all times, campers are sure to have the best summer ever!

Bring out the entire family and enjoy a week of camp together with our family camp program! Allow our staff of 65+ highly trained, ambitious, eager, and courteous young professionals to cater to your needs; whether it be activity instruction, trail guiding, etc. Activity classes are offered Monday - Friday, with special excursions to nearby attractions (Rocky Mountain National Park, anyone?) readily available due to our close proximity.
