What are the 2017 theme T-shirts all about?
This year we are selling a camp theme shirt! The T-shirts will be $10 and you can buy them during your online registration or you can wait until Sunday’s registration at GVR and buy them once you see them in person (However if you don't preorder, you may not get the size you want). If you pre-order your shirt during your online registration it will guarantee that we have your size and we will have your shirt waiting when you come to registration on Sunday! Registration for Summer Camp 2017 will open March 1, 2017!
Are there any discounts for Camp?
Yes, if you are member of an SDA church in the Rocky Mountain Conference you will get $35 off of the rate. Also GVR is proud to offer a discount for those campers that invite a NEW CAMPER to GVR. A camper attending camp as "New Camper" themselves to have this discount apply. Bring a NEW CAMPER discount ONLY applies if a camper has attended our camp before and are bring a NEW FRIEND, this discount also does not apply for family members. The invitee receives of a NEW CAMPER receives $50.00 off for the campers you invite! So go invite friends and get $50.00 off (Up to $100)!! The third discount a camper can receive is our Family discount, this is a $10 rate off of each family member attending camp. Centura Associates are not eligible for these discounts due to the large discount they receive through the Centura health system.
Can I reserve a cabin for my camper?
You can assign your campers to their cabins during the registration process. We cannot guarantee actual cabins (you place your camper in Apache but at registration they are in Comanche) as camper numbers may require us to move assignments – in this case we would do our best to keep groups together and inform you on the move. How can I look up the child care laws that Glacier View Ranch follows or contact someone with concerns ?
Glacier View Ranch has a child care license though the state of Colorado. If you would like to see a copy of our license please CLICK HERE. Most of our required paperwork and guidelines come from that licensing. What if I don’t want to fill out my application online?
All our registration processes are online, but you can call us and get assistance in filling that out if you need it. Call 303-282-3664 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
What if my camper gets sick or needs medical attention?
A medical professional (i.e. nurse, doctor, EMT), is on duty 24 hours a day to take care of minor ailments, necessary medications, and emergencies. All of our staff with direct interaction with your child are trained in First Aid and CPR. There are also AEDs available on site. All campers will receive a health screening to determine their fitness and overall safety to the camp. A signed physical from your physician completed within the last years, immunization record, health history and signed Medical and Liability Release, as well as the front and back copy of your health insurance card are required at check-in to be in compliance with Colorado State Law. You can fax these forms to 303-468-9107 prior to camper check-in, if you have them available. If your camper gets sick while at GVR, we will contact you and let you know what steps have been taken and what will happen next. Please keep in mind that we are not able to care for a sick or injured camper for an extended period of time and may require you to come pick them up, if the medicalprofessional deems it necessary.
Why are you asking for more contact information this year?
We are required by the state of Colorado (7.711.61) to collect complete information on a primary contact (including employer information) and additional information for a secondary contact (address different from the primary’s).
How do Cub Camp Activities work?
Cub campers will rotate through all activities with their cabin group during the week (with the exception of Rock Climbing and Ropes Course); this will give them a chance to experience every activity within a safe environment and with their counselor.
What time does registration start/when is camper pickup?
Registration is Sundays from 2:00 pm to 3:30pm. Camper pickup is Sundays from 9am to 10:45am, if you arrive after 11am you may pick up your camper in the cafeteria breezeway.
A photo ID is required to remove your camper and you must be on the approved check-out list.
What happens to my camper’s unspent store money at the end of the week?
Any unspent funds in the camp store will be donated to the campership fund, to assist campers that may not be able to afford to go to camp. Unfortunately unused store deposits cannot be refunded.
How can I contact my camper?
Campers love to receive mail! You can mail it to GVR at the beginning of camp (allow for transit time) or just leave it at the Camp Office during registration. You can also e-mail your camper at:email@example.com (emails are printed and handed out at mail call just before lunch – please note that your camper will not generally be able to respond). Please make sure to write the name of the camper and cabin in the subject line. If at all possible, we ask that you refrain from calling your camper due to the fact it can make them more homesick and want to go home. However, if you need to contact them, please call the front office phone: 303-459-0945.
Can we come up and visit our camper?
We highly discourage visiting during the week due to the disruptions that it can cause. Sometimes the camper is homesick and when the parents arrive it can make it worse. This being said we understand that they are your campers and would ask if you do come and visit, please let us know that you are coming and check in at the office. If it is during meal times, the meal is $8 for a non-camper.
Do I need a physical for my camper?
Colorado Law requires proof or a physical within the last 24 months. A copy of a recent physical, or a school or Sports physical may be used in place of this form. Please provide a copy for us since we place previous records in permanent storage at the end of each summer.
What if my camper wants to be baptized?
Opportunities are available for any young person to be baptized by immersion into the family of God and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This baptism would be in complete cooperation with parents or legal guardians. We have caring, trained staff that would study basic Biblical truths with each camper. A decision for baptism depends on the “readiness” of each camper. Arrangements can be made to have family and special pastors involved in this incredible event. Is there any refunds if your camper is not able to make it to camp?
There is a $60 non-refundable fee. When you pay the $60 it reserves your campers spot for camp. We can not guarantee your campers spot will be saved if you do not pay the deposit. If you have paid more than the $60 non-refundable fee and are not able to make it to camp we'll refund payment with the exception of the $60 non-refundable fee.
What weeks is clean meat an option?
We have three weeks out of the summer that meat is served: Cub II, Junior, and Teen Camp.
How do I get qualified for the "bring a friend" discount?
Your camper can only receive the discount if they have attended Glacier View Ranch Summer camp a previous summer. The discount is only applied for NEW FRIENDS, not family members (i.e. cousins, siblings, etc.). Centura employees do not qualify for this discount. Your camper can receive a maximum of $100 off ($50 off per new friend). This discount may not be automatically applied during check out as it will be manually approved by our staff.
