FAQ
Q. What is the Rocky Mountain Conference of Sda?
A. The Rocky Mountain Conference of SDA (RMC) is the administrative headquarters for 133 Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) churches in northwest New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. We are a part of the Mid-America Union Conference in the North American Division of the global Seventh-day Adventist church. Visit our main page to find out more about the Seventh-day Adventist denomination of Christians.
Q. What is the role of the RMC Youth Department?
A. The RMC Youth Department exists to:
01. Offer youth ministry specific support, encouragement and resources to each of the 133 SDA churches in NM, CO, and WY.
02. Operate two, first-class camping facilities. Glacier View Ranch (GVR), located at 8,700ft elevation in Ward, CO, serves over 5,000 individuals annually. The summer program alone hosts 400+ campers ages 7 - 17 on 660 acres of alpine beauty. Mills Spring Ranch, located at 8,100ft elevation in Casper, WY is a smaller, seasonal facility and equally gorgeous. With breathtaking views from the edge of Casper Mountain, MSR hosts user-groups from May through October and 50+ summer campers ages 9 -17.
03. Provide high-quality, relevant and engaging programming for young people in the Rocky Mountain Conference. Currently, we offer 6 weeks of summer camp at GVR and 1 week of summer camp at MSR, Pathfinders & Adventurers, and Teen Prayer Summit which is held every year on the 3rd weekend of January.
Q. What are your office hours?
A. We hold regular office hours at our headquarters in Denver — Monday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm. We’re available by e-mail at nearly every other time!
Q. I’ve heard that the RMC Youth Department offers discounted lift tickets to copper mountain, is that true?
A. Unfortunately, it only used to be true. We discontinued the lift ticket program in 2016.
Q. I’d Like to get involved with Youth ministry in the rmc, what do I need to do?
A. First, give us a call or send us an e-mail with a little bit of information about you and how you’d like to be involved. Don’t know what you want to do? Contact us anyway! We’re happy to help find a place for you. Second, head on over to our HR Department’s page and complete the Verified Volunteers training program and background check. Upon successful completion of the training program and background check we’ll reach out and get you connected with your local community or plugged in with service opportunities through our office.
Q. I’m a youth pastor or youth leader in the RMC, what can you do for me?
A. Please give us a call or send us an e-mail! We’d love to reach out and connect in person (especially over a good lunch or dinner) and get to know you better. We believe that we’ll be best able to serve your community after establishing a strong connection and listening to your strengths, struggles, successes and dreams!
We’ll be reaching out to our churches consistently in 2019. Expect to hear from us soon, but please give us some grace as we have a lot of territory to cover!
Q. I’ve seen pretty boss “RMC YOUTH” or GVR & MSR Camp t-shirts around, how do I get my hands on one?
A. We’ll have an online store open in the coming months. Until then, attend one of our events, catch us at Mile High Academy, Campion Academy, or one of our junior academies, or give us a call to place an order over the phone! Shirts range in price from $10 to $35 dollars. All proceeds benefit the ministry of the RMC Youth Department.
